2016 SDCC exclusive Star Wars Black Series

Thanks to Yak Face's tweet! I was able to place an order for all three of the SDCC Black Series exclusives!

The 2016 SDCC exclusive Star Wars Black Series six inch scale action figures are awesome. The Obi-wan Kenobi and Kylo Ren figures accompanied by some fantastic accessories. The Princess Leia Hologram table is phenomenal.

The Jyn Erso is packaged similarly to the SDCC First Order Stormtrooper, from last year.  Please note that these are from my collection, and these items are not for sale.

eBay Arrival: POTF II Cantina Showdown

From the Star Wars The Power of the Force II line, the Cantina Showdown three pack arrived from an eBay purchase.

The set includes three action figures: Dr. Evazan (exclusive to this set), Ponda Baba, and Obi-Wan Kenobi!  The set also includes a base, the Catina floor, and cardboard background of the Cantina.

Caption on the back of the box:
On the run from Imperial stormtroopers, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker enter the seedy Mos Eisley Cantina in hopes of finding swift passage to the planet Alderaan. Inside, among the gallery of criminals are the murderous Dr. Evazan and the brutal Ponda Baba--both of whom are thirsty for a fight with Skywalker. Reaching for their blasters, the villains are suddenly cut off from Luke by the pulsating blaze of Obi-Wan's lightsaber! Will Obi-Wan triumph and save the Rebellion's only hope?

Kmart Exclusive Star Wars Black Series Sergeant Jyn Erso

Another Rogue Friday order has arrived, Kmart Exclusive Star Wars Black Series Sergeant Jyn Erso (Eadu).

One thing about this exclusive that I find interesting is the small accessory that is included in the package.  The small black cylinder appears to be a non-activated lightsaber.  I guess we will have to wait to see.

This was a ship to store order, and it was not packaged well within the box.  There were a few packing bubbles, but Jyn Erso's box has some scuff and scrapes.  There are three noticeable white spots, two on the front and one of the back.

It also arrived with a sizable crease down the right side of the back of the box, as pictured in the image below.

New Sabine Wren Action Figure

Another Rogue Friday order arrived, Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels 3.75" Action Figure, from Amazon.

I'm glad that his figure has a removeable helmet, unlike the previous two pack figure.  This figure is a nice addition to the Star Wars Rebels 3.75" series of figures.

There will be a couple of more Star Wars Rebels figures available soon, Prince Leia and the Darth Maul/Seventh Sister two pack.  I also need to find one of the A-Wings with Hera.

Ezra Bridger's Speeder

I got Ezra Bridger's Speeder, Force Awakens packaging, for a great price, on Amazon.

I have tried to keep up with the few Star Wars Rebels figures and vehicles that they released, since the series started.

I think I have most, of the 3.75" toys available.  I know I several Kanans, Ezras, Inqusitors, and stormtroopers from Rebels.

Go Rogue: Sunday Shipment

Most of the items that I ordered from Amazon on Rogue Friday arrived Sunday, which was not possible when before we moved here.

The Star Wars Black Series K2SO, Captain Cassian Andor, Rey with BB8 and lightsaber.  The K2SO and Cassian Andor had some scuffs and scratches, since Amazon usually doesn't put much packing materials in the boxes.

The Rogue One carded Kanan Jarrus (Stormtrooper Disguise) also arrived in this shipment.

WWE Superstar Zack Ryder Rogue One Unboxing Video

On Rogue Friday, WWE Superstar and avid toy collector Zack Ryder unboxed some of Hasbro’s new Star Wars Black Series Six Inch scale action figures.  The YouTube video is embedded below.

Ryder has a massive collection of WWE, ECW and WCW action figures, among other toy lines.  Visit WWE.com to see more of his action figures.

Woo Woo Woo!

Go Rogue Day 2: Saturday Finds

This weekend has made me think that I live in the town Rogue One forgot.  I went to two more stores.  Kmart and Walmart had new Hot Wheels, and Walmart had a few 3.75" figures.

Walmart had the eight exclusive Star Wars Hot Wheels that celebrates eight worlds from Star Wars, from Kamino to Jakku.

Kmart had a supply of Force Awakens merchandise, and the new Hot Wheels Car Ships.  The new Star Wars Hot Wheels Car Ships included the Slave I, the Millennium Falcon, a Tie Fighter, and an X-Wing.

The left photo collages below from Walmart and Kmart show their lack of Rogue One products.

Jimmy's Toys Custom Cardbacks

For several years, I have been interested in either recarding vintage figures or creating my own custom cardbacks.

After watching a few YouTube videos, I ordered a few supplies and started out with a couple of tests.

Supplies:
Premium InkJet Photo Sticker Paper
Ultra Pro Comicbook Board
Fiskars Corner Punch

The first test cardback was a vintage Han Solo.  I found a decent scan of that carback online in a forum and printed it on the Premium InkJet Photo Sticker Paper.

I applied the Han Solo sticker to the Ultra Pro Comicbook Board.  After cutting the board, around the sticker.  I was not completely happy with the color, so I adjusted the color and printed a second copy of the Han Solo cardback and applied to the back of the first.  After trimming around the edges, I used the Fiskars Corner Punch, to round the four corners of the cardback.

I was pretty happy with the results, so I moved on to starting work on a custom cardback.  In Photoshop, the font of the cardback was based on the vintage style, but it was my own version of that extended the yellow lines around the card.  The cardback that created was based on the Vintage Collection cardbacks.  Below are the work in progress front and back of the card, as well as the front and back after printing and attaching to the comic board.

I have had a hard time finding bubbles for my cards, so I have not actually completed the process of adding Captain Phasma to my custom card back. I have seen some on eBay, but they are very expensive. I have also seen some people suggest buying figures at the dollar store and using those bubbles. However, I have not found any action figures that have bubbles that would work for the traditional Star Wars carded figure look.

Once I find a supply of bubbles, I plan to make more custom cards.

Rogue Friday Not As Good As Last Year's Force Friday

My wife went toy hunting for me this morning. Target didn't get much product this year, and what had been was already gone. All that she could find that I wanted was a half priced Hot Wheels Rey's Speeder.

At the Disney store, she snagged a free Rogue One poster and the free Rogue One "My Rogue One Video Starter Pack." She bought the awesome Star Wars Rogue One Imperial Death Trooper Voice Changing Mask!

After lunch, we stopped by Walmart and found 3.75" Black Series Ahsoka Tano, and two clearance Star Wars Rebels figures from last year, Kanan and The Inquisitor.  I also picked up a Hot Wheels Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

The rest of my Rogue Friday has consisted a few online orders.  I ordered the Kmart Exclusive Jyn Erso.  I also ordered three of the new Black Series Six Inch action figures from Amazon, as well as, Kanan and Sabine from the new line.

There are a few photos listed below from the stores.

#TBT to Last Year's Force Friday

A small throwback to last years Force Friday at the then local Toys R Us, down in south Georgia.

As you can see from the first collage, we weren't that far back in line, but there was not much left, but the time we had a chance to look down the Star Wars aisle

I was only able to get two of the figures that I wanted that day: Rey and Kylo Ren. At least Toys R Us gave us a poster and a LEGO block.

Mattel Classic Ghostbusters Figures

The last four weeks, I have been slowly collecting the new Mattel Classic Ghostbusters figures.  I usually like the figures that include the build-a-figure pieces.  In this case, you can build the No-Ghost Logo, if you collect all four of the Class Ghostbusters.

I picked up Peter Venkman on June 1st, at Walmart.  Peter was always my favorite Ghostbuster.

On June 15th, I found and bought the Ray Stanz figure.  Ray was the heart and soul of the Ghostbusters.

Today, I bought the Egon Spengler action figure.  Egon was the scientific mind behind the Ghostbusters.

I still need to find the Winston figure. I hope to add it to the collection soon.

Jimmy's Toys YouTube Channel

I have been posting stop motion animation videos of my LEGO builds on Twitter and Instagram for a few months.
http://youtube.jimmystoys.com/
A couple of days ago, I decided to make a YouTube Channel.  I have uploaded a few of the videos, thus far.  I will add all of my videos, and then start adding new videos.

The YouTube Channel is listed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_akizug9Jt2GE-YZRIptfA, but I have also created a redirect link that's easier to remember, which is http://youtube.jimmystoys.com.

I have embedded the first video that I made below.
